Using the Virtual Desktops
In Windows 10 user can create a Virtual Desktop. A Virtual Desktop gives the user more space than a single screen. It helps the user to span the apps and windows across multiple Virtual Desktops.
To create a Virtual desktop- Click on the ‘Task View’ icon on the taskbar. Next, click on the ‘New Desktop’ in the lower right corner. This way the user can add as many desktops as he wants. You just have to drag the app in to the Virtual Desktop.
Advance Screenshot Feature
There are many ways to take a screenshot in the windows OS. The user can press Windows + PrtScn which captures the entire screen and saves it in the Screenshots folder, inside the Pictures Folder. The user can simply press the PrtScn button and it will capture the screen and it will be copied to the clipboard; then the user can paste it in paint or Photoshop and save the image.
The user can also use the Snipping Tool, which is a built-in app in windows. To capture a full-screen screenshot with Snipping tool user can specify an aspect ratio or an entire window. The user can also capture a screenshot by using the free-form rectangle. A new feature in snipping tool is – user can capture a delayed screenshot, which is helpful while taking a screenshot of a YouTube video but not until the playback controls disappear.
Use the Screen Space
Using the space on the monitor is a great way of multi-tasking. To use the space on screen properly windows 10 provide some shortcuts:
- Dragging a window to the left or right side of the screen will split it in half.
- Dragging a window to a corner will split it into a fourth and resize the window to fit each corner.
- Dragging a window to the top of the screen will make it full screen.
Minimize Windows by shaking them
If you have opened a lot of windows during a Task and you want to minimize all of them. Just grab the title bar of a prior window which you want to keep, and shake the mouse, all other windows will be minimized.
You can do this trick in the Windows 7 and 8 too.
Screen Recording with Xbox app in Windows 10
The screen recording is a bit trickier in Windows 10 than the Mac. To record the screen, launch the Xbox app and press ‘Windows + G’ to start recording. After pressing the keys a window will be prompted, asking “Do you want to open Game bar?” – select the “Yes, this is a game” option and click on the record button.

A battery is an essential part of portable devices like laptops or tablet computers. The battery saver mode in windows 10 is similar to the battery saver modes in android and iOS. When the battery saver mode is activated in Windows 10, the background activities and push notifications are limited to extend battery life.
The Battery saver mode will automatically start when the battery is lower than 20%. The user can also set the power threshold and can add the apps he wants to allow to run in the background.
To activate the Battery Saver- go to, Settings-> System -> Battery Saver
