8 herbs to stay infection free and fit in monsoon

After the sweltering summer heat, monsoon is a nice relief to our life and livelihood. Due to the dampness in the rainy season, all the harmful bacteria alive become cause of various infections in respiratory tract, cholera, typhoid, diarrhoea, malaria, dengue fever, asthma and more.

In India our traditional ayurveda says, ‘what heals also prevents.’ This ayurveda study offered various with properties to fight against infections. During the rainy season, a list of 8 herbs mentioned below that will boost immunity and help fight the diseases and infections:

1. Basil or Tulsi:

Basil or Tulsi includes phyto chemicals, bioflavonols and anti-oxidants compounds like Rosmarinic Acid, which may be a excellent for treating infections within the tract . It works on chest congestion by dilating the airways in the lungs. To boost your immunity, if possible try to have one to two cups of tulsi tea daily. The hot tea defuses the cold inflowing into the body from the external environment and controls internal temperature.

2. Turmeric:

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and helps boosting immunity. Add turmeric to hot milk and drink it every night.

3. Triphala:

Triphala is mixture of three herbs (amla, beheda, haritaki), is an effective antioxidant. This increases digestive capacity which likely to go down during monsoon. Amla is the good source of vitamin C, which reduces the harshness of cold and builds the immune system stronger. Beheda works in curing cough and clearing congestion. It also helps in loose motions and diarrhoea. Gargling with haritaki powder can appease the throat. Haritaki also works as digestive aid.

4. Honey:

Honey linked with remedial respiratory issues since ancient times. It’s a good cures for cold, painful throat and related problems.

5. Garlic:

Garlic has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-protozoal characteristics. It helps in reducing inflexible coughs and clearing mucus that blocks the lungs. The anti-viral and anti-bacterial property of garlic is attributed to the compound “Allicin”, which provides it the recent and powerful flavour. The compound “Ajoene” present in garlic helps in controlling bacterial and viral infections. In addition, it also works as a natural precautions for cancer, more specifically carcinoma .

6. Ginger:

Ginger includes anti-inflammatory gingerols and shaogals. It helps relieve a pharyngitis quickly, and also kills rhinoviruses that cause respiratory infections.

7. Cinnamon:

Cinamon helps in treating painful throat, colds and cough. A nice warm cup of cinnamon tea can heal throat irritation; itching and can prevent the approach of an imminent cold effectively.

8. Pepper:

Pepper is added to tonics for treating cold and cough. Pepper also offers release from sinusitis and nasal congestion. It has an expectorant property that helps to break up the mucus and phlegm depositions in the respiratory tract. Its normal nuisance quality helps you drive out these loosened materials through the act of sneezing or coughing, which eliminates the material from the body and helps you to heal from infection and related illness.
